The remains of Bert Magill, 73, of Webster City were brought here last Friday for burial. He died at the home of his only son, Albert, at Ames, after a weeks illness. He is survived by his wife, one son, Albert, and one granddaughter. He lived for years here, working in the roundhouse, later running a popcorn wagon at Webster City.

Long Time Resident of City Died Wednesday Night at Ames
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Ames for Bert Magill, 75, who had operated popcorn concessions in Webster City for almost 18 years. The Rev. Harold Gamble of the First Baptist church of Ames officiated in the services at the Adams chapel, burial was in Eagle Grove.Mr. Magill died Wednesday night at Mary Greeley hospital Ames, where he had been a patient since Friday, Jan. 21. Death was caused by complications. He was born June 2, 1868 in Michigan, and for a number of years was in the grocery business at Eagle Grove. He was also employed by the Chicago-Northwestern railway as a mechanic until 1924 when he moved to Ames to manage a popcorn stand. In 1926 he came to Webster City and had operated a popcorn stand here until this past winter. Mr. Magill was married to Eliza May Schoonover March 15, 1892 at Eagle Grove and they had one son, Albert, now of Ames. In January 1921 he was married again, to Nellie Northrup.
