Death of Little Harold McGrath
Mr. and Mrs. Earl McGrath are mourning the death of their little boy Harold, who died very suddenly, Monday evening. The little fellow had been in his usual good health up to Sunday night when the first ailment of any kind appeared. He died following a series of convulsions, though everything possible was done to save the little life. Harold was nearly two years old and was an exceptionally bright child. The sudden and unexpected death is a severe shock to the parents and entire family and calls for the deepest sympathy of the entire community.
Funeral services were held today at 2:00 p. m. from the Methodist church and the little form was tenderly laid to rest in Rosehill cemetery.

November 25, 1914Passes Away Monday Evening After A Heroic Struggle With Ptomaine Poisoning.
Again it becomes our unwelcomed duty to tell of the entrance of the death angel in another home. This time Mr. and Mrs. Earl McGrath are bereaved. Their only child Harold succumbed to the ravages of Ptomaine poisoning Monday evening at 7:20 o’clock. He went to bed Sunday evening in his usual good health and about 10:30 awakened delirious. He was attacked by convulsions which continued almost incessantly until death came to his relief. Everything humanly possible was done to save his life. Nurses were summoned and a council of physicians held and a specialist from Ft. Dodge was called but their united efforts were unavailing. The little fellow struggled manfully to withstand the attack and results of the poisoning and only gave up when he was physically exhausted.
Harold McGrath would have been two years of age had his life been spared until the 9th of the coming January. He was a bright, aggressive and alert little fellow and had endeared himself to the entire neighborhood who mourn his loss as one of their own.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon in the Methodist church and the interment in Rose Hill cemetery. The sorrowing parents and relatives have the sincere sympathy of the entire city in this, the hour, of one of the greatest sorrows that can enter a home.
