August 31, 1862 --- October 14, 1915
C. Roswell McVicker was born in Marshall County, Illinois, August 31, 1862, and closed his earthly life at his home near Eagle Grove, Iowa, October 14, 1915. He grew to manhood in Illinois and in the fall of 1883 he came with his parents to Wright County, Iowa, and settled on the farm southwest of Eagle Grove, where he has ever since made his home.
Mr. McVicker was a good citizen, a kind and loving, companion and father and will be greatly missed by a large circle of relatives and friends. Mr. McVicker was united in marriage with Miss Luella Allen on April 8, 1886, and to this union were born four children; they are Mrs. Mabel Larson, Cassius, Wylie and George. These with one sister, Mrs. Patterson of Des Moines, one brother Edward, of Council Bluffs, his mother, his bereaved companion and numerous other relatives and friends mourn his departure. Mr. McVicker was converted and united with the M. E. church on July 21, 1898, during the pastorate of Rev. John Southwell. He was also a member of the M. W. A. These partings leave us with bowed heads and aching hearts, but we confidently look forward to a meeting where partings are no more.
