E. J. "Ole" Willie, 79, of Eagle Grove, died Thursday, October 21, 2004, at USA Healthcare in Clarion. Private family memorial services were held on Monday, October 25, 2004, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove with the Father David Beckman officiating.

E. J. "Ole" Willie was born May 14, 1925, at Doland, South Dakota. The family moved to Eagle Grove where he was raised and educated, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1943. Eldon moved to Seattle, Wash., where he worked in the shipyards for 10 years before moving to Spencer, Iowa, where he worked for his brother's company, Spencer Communications, for 27 years. He retired in 1989, living in Spencer until September 2004 where he moved to Rotary Ann Nursing Home. In August, Eldon moved to USA Healthcare in Clarion. He was a member of the Eagle's Club while living in Spencer.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Dennis Willie, of Virginia Beach, Va.; Ben Willie and his wife, Dorothy, of Iowa City; M. J. Willie, of Eagle Grove; Frances Trout, and her husband, Dick, of Elkhart, Ind.; Robert Willie, and his wife, Darletta, of Ralston, Neb.; Virginia Anderson of Mankato, Minn.; and Lois Filipek, of Redfield, S.D.; several nieces and nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be sent to the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove. The Foust Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
