Alice Cedora Hotz was born August 30, 1913, at Loogootee, Ind. the daughter of Roy and Mina Mary Walton Hotz. She attended the Eagle Grove schools, and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1933. Alice was united in marriage to Eugene Wright of Loogootee, Ind., on March 24, 1934 at Lawrenceville, Ill. After a month, they came to Eagle Grove to make their home. They returned to Loogootee in July 1956, where Eugene died in 1961, at the age of 51.

Alice maintained her home in Indiana until 1963, coming back to Eagle Grove where her parents were living, and helped to care for them until they died.

Alice was a member of the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove.

She entered the Trinity Regional Hospital, Fort Dodge, on June 28, 1987, and died there on July 3, 1987 at the age of 73 years, 10 months, and three days. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Spencer, and a niece. She is survived by one son, David Wright, Bedford, Mass.; one brother, Robert Hotz, Herscher, Ill.; two granddaughters; and a great-grandson.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove, on Monday, July 6,1987. Rev. Scott C. Hall officiated, and the burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
