18 October 1916 ---- 21 October 1918

Florence Lyons, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Lyons, of Iowa City, died Monday evening at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Brisbin. Florence Lyons was born at Iowa City and was two years and three days old. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. Both the parents are seriously ill with influenza at the Brisbin home. It is with deep regret that the many home learn of their increased burdens.

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Lyons have the sympathy of their many Eagle Grove friends in the loss of their baby daughter. Florence Lyons was born in Iowa City, October 18, 1916 and died in Eagle Grove, October 21, 1918 at the age of two years and three days. Mrs. Lyons came to be with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Brisbin during the absence of her husband, who was called from Iowa City to California by the critical condition of his father, Ed Lyons. He had returned to attend the funeral of his brother-in-law Will Brisbin when the little daughter was suddenly taken. Both of the parents have been very sick, but are improving at this time.
