Marjorie Mathiason, the daughter of Carl and Sarah (Thompson) Mathiason, was born April 9, 1936 in Hardy, Iowa the youngest of 13. She attended school in Bode. As a single Mom, she gathered up her children and worked at the Fort Dodge theaters for several years. After that she worked as a CNA until her retirement in 1989.

Caring and loving people was one of the many virtues Marjorie had. She enjoyed fishing and introduced it to her children from a young age. She was a Twins baseball fan (Kirby Puckett) as well as NASCAR fan (Dale Earnhardt). Marjorie also enjoyed going shopping at the Goodwill. Her most joyous holiday was Christmas. She was so passionate about it and that she dressed up like Santa just to see the joy and excitement from her children and grandchildren. She expressed and requested that when she passed away, Christmas would be a part of her funeral service. She loved dancing at the Bohemian Hall and the Twilight Ballroom. She received a volunteer service award in 2016.

She never knew a stranger, she greeted everyone with a hello, a sparkle in her eyes and smile. Friends and family close to her affectionately called her Ma Peck. For many years Marjorie prayed for and dreamed of finding her baby Joyce Ann, that she gave up for infant adoption. Then after many years and a six year search, her prayers were answered in 2003. She met LaDonna and at last her family was complete. Family was very important to Marjorie and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include, her children, LaDonna (Steve) Bosma of Ocheyedan, Sheree (Duane) McClellan of Guthrie Center, Connie (Allen) Beeson of Grimes, Julie (Steve) Montgomery of Duncombe, SaraLee (Brian Busse) Peck of Humboldt and MariAnn (Donald) Borgen of Pleasant Hill; 25 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
