Mrs. L. Fatland Rites Held Saturday

Mrs. LaVerne Fatland, 27, died Wednesday evening at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur W. Nelson following a short illness. Mrs. Fatland had been in poor health for some time as she suffered from heart trouble, but her last illness was of short duration. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist church in charge of the pastor. Rev. C. W. Tompkins. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Fatland is survived by her husband, her parents, and one sister, Mrs. Kenneth Knudson.

Obituary

Avonell Alice Nelson, was born on June 8, 1917, to parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur W. Nelson. She was baptized in the Methodist church by Rev. W. G. Muhleman. She was active in Sunday Junior League and Epworth League and was a teacher in the Sunday School and Junior League.

Here she attended grade school, high school and Junior college, and later summer school at Iowa State Teachers college. She taught in the Wright County rural schools.

She was married to LaVerne Fatland of Eagle Grove on June 2, 1943 and had made her home on a farm east of Eagle Grove until her death, April 4, 1945 at the home of her parents.

She leaves to mourn her going, her husband, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Nelson and one sister, Mrs. Kenneth Knudson.

Martin, Mr. and Mrs. N. C. Benson, Gibbon, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Anderson, Winthrop, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Anderson, St. Paul, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Knutson, Morris, Ill.; Mrs. N. M. Volding, Elmer Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Nelson, Estherville; Mr. and Mrs. Mancil Hurlbur, Swea City; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Osman, Britt; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Knudson, Webster City.
