DESSIE MAE WINGAARD
Dessie Mae Brady Wingaard was born Dec. 12, 1919, on a farm near Woolstock, the daughter of Edward Frank and Birdie Lee Dakins Frye. She grew up on the family farm, and was educated in rural Wright County schools. In the 1940's she was united in marriage to James Brady. She moved to Eagle Grove in 1947 and on March 8, 1967, was married to Ivan Wingaard, of Eagle Grove, at Elk Point, S.D. The couple returned to Eagle Grove to make their home.Dessie died at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 14, at the age of 65 years, 2 months and 2 days. She is survived by her husband; 2 sons, James Brady, Dakota City, Percy Brady, Eagle Grove; 2 stepsons, Roger and James Wingaard, Eagle Grove; 2 stepdaughters, LaVonne, Mrs. Kenneth Bige, Clear Lake and Nadine, Mrs. Bill Winters, [Winter] Oskaloosa; several grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; a sister, Thelma, Mrs. Curt Wier, Eagle Grove; a brother, Alvin Frye, Des Moines; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, June Luke, and 2 brothers, Gerald Doyle and Lloyd Frye.
Mrs. Wingaard was a member of the Church of the Open Bible, Eagle Grove. The family wishes to thank all those who remembered them at this time of their loss.
Funeral services were 1:30 p.m., Sat., Feb. 16, at the Church of the Open Bible, Eagle Grove. Dr. Lloyd W. Meyer officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
