Mrs. Anna Block funeral Saturday
Mrs. Anna Block, 82, died Wednesday at the Care Center, Humboldt. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Kastler-Babcock-DeYoung Funeral Home. Dr. Ralph Kitterman, Humboldt, will officiate. Mrs. Block was a former Eagle Grove resident and operated a custodial home on North Iowa Ave. from 1951 to 1973. She is survived by three sons: Kenneth Robinson, Humboldt; Lawrence Robinson, Grand Rapids, Mich.; and Gary Block, Humboldt; two daughters: Mrs. Jerry Kennedy, Humboldt; Mrs. Edward Wedge, Mason, Mich.; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one greatgreat-grandchild; also one sister, Mrs. Wayne Williams of Humble, Tex.

Anna Marie Nelson, the daughter of George and Elina Hansen Nelson, wwas born October 2, 1894, at Goldfield, Iowa. She graduated from the Goldfield High School as valedictorian of her class. In 1912 she was married to Danny Robinson of Goldfield at Goldfield. Mr. Robinson died in 1920. In December of 1930 she was married to Ralph Block of Renwick at Boone. Prior to moving to Eagle Grove in 1961 she lived in the LuVerne area. From 1961 to 1973 she operated a custodial home in Eagle Grove. Mr. Block died in 1967. She moved to Humboldt in 1975.

Mrs. Block died Wednesday, August 31, 1977, at the Humboldt Care Center South, at the age of 82 years, ten months and 28 days. She had been a resident at the Care Center since January 1977.

Survivors include three sons: Kenneth Robinson, Humboldt; Lowell Robinson, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Gary Block, Humboldt; three daughters: Verna (Mrs. Gerald) Kennedy, Humboldt; Avis (Mrs. Edward) Wedge, Mason, Mich.; Beverly (Mrs. Wayne) Williams, Humble, Tex.; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands - Danny and Ralph; three brothers, Hans, Nels, and Mandus; a sister, Cena Munger; also a granddaughter and a grandson.

She was a member of the Goldfield Church of Christ and a former member of the Rebekah Lodge.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 3, 1977, at 10 a.m. at Kastler-Babcock-DeYoung Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Dr. Ralph Kitterman of the United Methodist Church, Humboldt, officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
