MABEL LOUISE FISHER

Mabel Louise Wagner was born November 4, 1895, at Holmes, Iowa, the daughter of John T. and Anna Suzanne Walker Wagner.

She was educated in a country school near Holmes.

On September 5, 1917, she was united in marriage to Norman Fisher of Troy Township, Iowa, in the Holmes Lutheran Church, at Holmes. The couple farmed south east of Eagle Grove, until Mr. Fisher died in 1953.

Mabel continued to live on the farm until entering the Rotary Ann Retirement Home in Eagle Grove six years ago. She transferred to the Infirmary of the Rotary Ann, in December of 1985. She passed away there on Sunday, August 31, at the age of 90 years, nine months, and 27 days.

She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis (Mrs. James) Spangler, Eagle Grove, one brother, Amos Wagner, Eagle Grove, four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a three-day-old son, Leonard.

Mabel was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Troy Culture Club, KYN, Church Circle. Ladies Aid, and Quilting Club of the Church.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 1986, at 10:30 a. m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Paul Schaedig officiated, and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.

Family members return home

At home with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Spangler, to attend the funeral of their grandmother, Mabel Fisher last Wednesday were Mrs. Bob Brisbin, of Westerville, Ohio; Dean Spangler of Cooksbille, Tenn., and Loren Spangler of Tempe, Ariz. and Mr. and Mrs. Lindsay Brisbin, of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Also in attendance was Howard Haynes, of Dallas, Tex.
