Ludwig Peterson
27 October 1891 --- 19 November 1993

ALCESTER, SD --- Ludwik Peterson, 102, died Friday, Nov. 19, 1993, at Morningside Manor in Alcester. He was born Oct 27, 1891, in Bergen, Norway. He came to the United States in 1910 to the Hawarden, Iowa, area. He served in the U.S. Army in World War I and later worked as a building and bridge foreman for the railroad. He married Lena Marie Christiansen on Feb. 28, 1927, in Hawarden. After his marriage he was transferred to Eagle Grove, Iowa. The couple moved back to Alcester in 1988. He was a member of the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church and the American Legion.

Survivors include two daughters: Marlene Kollias of San Bruno, Calif.; and Eleanor Ericson of Provo, Utah; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Lawrence Anderson of Alcester. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Rosehill Cemetery in Eagle Grove.
