Rites at Goldfield for Mrs. Rasmussen

EAGLE GROVE--Mrs. Frederika Rasmussen, 86, widow, died at farm home of her son, Fred Rasmussen, in Lake township, Humboldt county. Funeral services were held at the Lake Lutheran church, Tuesday, in charge of the Rev. T. J. Severtson of Eagle Grove. Burial was made in Glenwood cemetery, Goldfield. The pallbearers were six grandsons.

Surviving are three daughters and sons: Mrs. Minnie Severson, Mrs. Anna Amerson, Mrs. Caroline Bartzen, Lewis, Peter, Fred, Anton and Nels Rasmussen; all of Humboldt county. Also by 38 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was born in Langeland, Denmark and had lived in America 59 years.

Mrs. Morten Larsen Dies Sunday A. M.

Mrs. Morten Larsen died at the home of her son, Fred Rasmussen, west of town early Sunday morning. Mrs. Larsen has been in failing health for the past year. Funeral services were held at the Lake Lutheran church on Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Severtson conducting the services.

Obituary

Fredrikke Fredricksen [Fredericksen] was born in Langland Denmark, April 14th, 1851, and died at the home, of her son Fred Rasmussen, in Lake township, Humboldt county, Iowa, May 16th, 1937, aged 86 years, 1 month and 2 days.

She was baptized into Christ, received instructions and confessed her Christian faith in the Lutheran church. At the age of 27 years, in 1878, she came to the United States and in 1880 was married to John Rasmussen. Eight children were born to them: Lewis H. Rasmussen, Peter A. Rasmussen, Mrs. Minnie Severson, Mrs. John Amerson, Mrs. John Bartzen, Fred Rasmussen, Anton Rasmussen and Nels Rasmussen, all of the vicinity of Goldfield. She is also survived by 38 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. John Rasmussen died in 1916. She was married again to Morton [Morten] Larsen who died in 1935 [1936].

Mrs. Larsen was an industrious and faithful lady, a kind mother and wife. Having lived in this vicinity for nearly 60 years, she contributed no small part in the building up of the community. It was a pleasure to minister to her spiritual wants, which she appreciated very much.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the home and from Lake Lutheran church. Burial was made in the family lot at Goldfield.

86 Year Old Pioneer Mother Native of Denmark, Was Beloved By All

Mrs. Morton [Morten] Larson (Larsen], 86, passed away at the home of her son, Fred Rasmussen, Sunday. Old age complications resulted in her death.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Lake Lutheran church, with Rev. Severtson in charge. Burial was made in the Glenwood cemetery at Goldfield.

The passing of Mrs. Larson [Larsen] marks the loss of one of the community's beloved pioneers. Mrs. Larson [Larsen] was known and deeply respected by all of the older people as well as the younger people of this neighborhood. Her friendliness and kind nature will long be remembered.

Mrs. Larson [Larsen] was born in Langland, Denmark, April 14, 1851, and came to America in 1878, where she married John Rasmussen. To them, 8 children were born, all of whom are living. They are, Lewis H., Mrs. John Amerson; Mrs. Ben Severson; Mrs. John Bartzen; Fred, Peter, Anton, and Nels. All are from Goldfield. Thirty-eight grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren also survive. Her husband, John, died in 1916. In 1925 she married Morton [Morten] Larson [Larsen]. Mr. Larson [Larsen] died: in 1935 [1936].
