Mrs. Will Copp's Father Buried in Rose Hill
The remains of George H. Ratcliffe, father of Mrs. Will Copp of this city, were brought to Eagle Grove for burial Wednesday. Mrs. Copp's many friends extend to her their sincere sympathy in the hour of her great sorrow.

Obituary

Geo. W. Ratcliffe was born in Hardin county, Iowa, May 25, 1859, and departed this life Sept. 16, 1923 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James Berka, on West Railroad Ave., Denison, Ia. at the age of 64 years, 3 months and 21 days.

He leaves to mourn his loss, besides his wife, one brother, Chas. Ratcliffe of LaPorte City, Ia., one sister, Mrs. John Lane, of Union, Ia., five children: Luther Ratcliffe of Denison, Ia., Harvy, of Dunlap, Ia., Walter of California, Mrs. James Berka of Denison, Ia., and Mrs. Wm. Copp of Eagle Grove, twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mr. Ratcliffe was a railroad man and at one time was roadmaster for the Great Western at Eagle Grove. Some two years ago he was compelled to retire from active service on account of failing health.

After prayer by Rev. Robins of the Baptist church at the home of the daughter, Mrs. James Berka, on Tuesday a.m., the remains were brought to Eagle Grove, where services were held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the home of the daughter, Mrs. Wm. Copp, Rev. E. A. Anderson being in charge. Interment was made at Rose Hill cemetery.
