Sybil Margaret Midland, daughter of Ben and Bertha Midland born August 30, 1907 in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She was baptized and attended Sunday School and was confirmed in the Eagle Grove East Side Lutheran Church. She was much devoted to her church and Sunday School class. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School with the class of 1925. Since September of that same year, she has taught in the Troy Center where she was highly esteemed by the pupils and the parents.

Sybil was fatally injured on the Chicago Great Western Railroad crossing on South Commercial Ave. in Eagle Grove Saturday morning February 12, 1927 and passed away Sunday morning February 13th, 1927, aged 19 years, 5 months, and 14 days. She leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Midland, two brothers, Leonard and Floyd, two sisters, Inez and Bernice.

Funeral services were held from the East Side Lutheran Church Wednesday afternoon, February 16th. Burial was made in Rose Hill Cemetery.
