December 29, 1891 --- July 12, 1975

Roy M. Fisher, 83, former Eagle Grove resident, died Saturday afternoon at the Hamilton County hospital where he had been a patient for three weeks.

Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday, at the First Baptist Church of Eagle Grove, with Rev. Charles Dutton officiating and burial at Rose Hill cemetery in Eagle Grove.

Body will lie in state till 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at Foster Funeral home when it will be taken to the church. There will be a prayer service Monday evening at 7 p.m. at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Paul Williamson officiating.

Roy Milton Fisher, son of Henry and Anna Bergman Fisher, was born Dec. 29, 1891 at Eagle Grove, Iowa. He was reared and educated in the rural schools there.

In August, 1919, he was united in marriage to Mary Martin and the couple farmed in the Eagle Grove area. His wife preceded him in death in 1935.

Then on August 20, 1936, he was united in marriage to Emily L. Horton, and the couple farmed in Eagle Grove till the December of 1962 when they moved to Webster City where he retired.

He is survived by his wife, five sons and three daughters. Paul W., Crystal Lake, Ill., Gordon R., of Delmont N. J., Burton H. of Tom's River, N.J., Mrs. Richard (Dorene) Myers of Fredericksburg, Va., Roy, Jr., of Riverside, Calif., Mrs. Clifton (Rachael) Carpenter, of Stone Mountain, Ga., Gary M. of Center Point, Mrs, Gary (Gloria) Rubendall of Clarion. Twenty-five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sister, Ellen Whiting, of Johnson, Vt. and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a son Everett L., one grandchild, his parents, and four brothers and one sister.

Roy M. Fisher, 83, of Webster City, former Eagle Grove farmer, died Saturday afternoon at Hamilton County Public Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past three weeks. Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Eagle Grove, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.

Surviving are the widow; children: Paul, Crystal Lake, Ill.; Gordon, Delmont, N.J.; Burton, Toms River, N.J.; Mrs. Richard Myers, Fredericksburg, Va.; Roy Jr., Riverside, Calif.; Mrs. Clifton Carpenter, Stone Mountain, Ga.; Gary Center Point, Ia.; Mrs. Gary Rubendall, Clarion; 25 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and sister, Ellen Whiting, Johnson, Vt.

Mr. Fisher was born at Eagle Grove and educated in the rural schools. In 1919, he married Mary Martin and they farmed in Eagle Grove.

In 1936, Mr. Fisher married Emily L. Horton and the couple farmed near Eagle Grove until 1962, when they moved to Webster City after retirement.

Funeral services for Roy M. Fisher, 83, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove, with Rev. Charles Dutton officiating and burial in Rose Hill cemetery in Eagle Grove.

Organist was Mrs. Royanne [Roi Anne] Gearhart. Singer was Mrs. Art Wesselink.

Pallbearers were Eugene Fisher, Gordon Fisher, Gregory Fisher, Martin Fisher, Michael Fisher and Milton Fisher.

Mr. Fisher died Saturday afternoon at the Hamilton County hospital.
