Janice Marlene Fischer, daughter of Roy and Ranelva Fischer, was born at their farm home southwest of Eagle Grove on July 26, 1934. She attended the Newark township grade schools graduating in 1948.

The family moved to Eagle Grove the following summer from where she attended the Eagle Grove high school graduating in 1952. She was active in church and school activities. She united with the Methodist church in 1946.

At the time of her death she was attending the Eagle Grove junior college where she was preparing herself to become a first grade teacher.

She is survived by her parents and four sisters: Lois, Mrs. Virgil Wilson: June Edith Fischer and Vernice, Mrs. Bernard Maier, all of Eagle Grove, and Royetta, Mrs. Maris Wells of Webster City. Also her maternal grandfather J. L. Reddick, a niece Kathleen Wilson and four nephews, Gary and Richard Wilson, David and Steven Maier and numerous relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Janice Fischer, 19, were held Tuesday afternoon, May 11 at 2:30 in the Methodist church. Rev. Harrison Dawes officiated and burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Miss Fischer, a junior college student, died Sunday, May 9 in a Fort Dodge hospital of a rare blood ailment after several weeks of serious illness during which time frequent blood transfusions were given her.

Junior college class mates Roger Morgan, Richard Johnson, Tommy Larson, Perry Paine, Gary Hintz, and Ben Hagar served as casket bearers. Larry Downing and Delbert Dawes were ushers.

Miss Fischer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Fischer, who with four sisters survive her. She lived on a farm southwest of Eagle Grove in early childhood and attended Newark township school. When the family moved to Eagle Grove in 1949 she attended Eagle Grove high school graduating with the class of 1952. She was taking teacher training in junior college in preparation for a teaching career.

She is survived by her parents and four sisters: Lois, Mrs. Virgil Wilson, June Edith Fischer and Vernice, Mrs. Bernard Maier, all of Eagle Grove, and Royetta, Mrs. Maris Wells of Webster, City.
