Pearl Metcalf
March 4, 1897 -- April 2, 1898

Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Metcalf, residing on Montgomery street, are mourning the death of their infant daughter Pearl, aged thirteen months, a bright, winsome little creature and the joy of the household. With the exception of Mrs. Metcalf the whole family have had the measles and the baby likewise contracted them. But it was supposed she was out of danger until about noon on Saturday, when she died quite suddenly, before a physician could be summoned. The funeral services were held at the house Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Southwell and for burial the remains were taken to Rose Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Metcalf feel their loss keenly and they have the sympathy of many friends.
