Last rites for Hal Fryslie
Funeral services are being held today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at the Foster Funeral Home in Webster City for Hal Fryslie, 62, Fort Dodge, former Eagle Grove resident. Rev. David R. LaMaster will officiate at the service, and burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.Fryslie died Sunday morning at the Southfield Care Center m Webster City where he had been a patient for five months. He had been in ill health since August of 1979. Fryslie is survived by his wife, Opal and five daughters. A complete obituary will be run next week.

Hal Fryslie, 62, R.F.D. 3, Fort Dodge, died Sunday morning, Sept. 12 at the Southfield Care Center, Webster City where he had been a patient for the past five months. He had been in ill health since August of 1979. Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15 at the Foster Funeral Home, Webster City. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove.
Survivors are his wife, Opal; daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Sharon) Rholl, Webster City; Mrs. Jesse (Saundra) Robeson, Havelock; Mrs. Guy (Janice) Lund, Clarion; Mrs. Francisco (Judy) Rodriquez, Dallas, Tx; Diane Fryslie, Fort Dodge; seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Richard (Wilma) Vilmain, Eagle Grove, and Mrs. Jeanne Rutz, Des Moines.
Fryslie was born in Popejoy, Iowa and was educated there. He married Opal Bridges in 1941 at Bethany, Mo., and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. He entered the U.S. Army in 1942 serving in the South Pacific Theater during World War II. He was discharged in 1945 and returned to Fort Dodge where he was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad. The couple had resided in Eagle Grove, and returned to Fort Dodge in 1970. He retired in 1979 from the railroad. Mr. Fryslie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Eagle Grove, the R.C.F.O. Railway Lodge, and also the Eagle AA Club.
