Robert E. Doyle, 84, died Sunday morning at the home of his son, Robert Doyle on North Commercial Ave. Mr. Doyle had not been in good health for the last three months, but was not considered dangerously ill, and his death came as a shock to his son and wife with whom he has made his home for several years.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from Sacred Heart church at nine o’clock in charge of the pastor, Rev. Father P. Molloy. Burial was in Calvary cemetery.

Robert Edward Doyle was born in 1852 in Ontario, Canada. Had he lived until March 2, 1937, he would have been 85 years of age. He came to the United States when he was 12 years old and with his parents settled in Butler county, Iowa. In 1879 he was married to Julia Shea and in 1883 they came to Wright county to make their home on a farm near Eagle Grove. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Doyle namely, Will of Vermillion, Alberta, Canada, Mrs. Nell Laughlin and Miss Katherine Doyle of Oak Park, Ill., Francis Doyle of DeLand, Fla. and Robert Doyle of this city. He is survived by his wife, the five children and two sisters. Mrs. Anna Sylvester and Miss Tressa Doyle of Greene, Iowa.

Mrs. Sylvester and daughter Nidra of Greene and Miss Katherine Doyle of Oak Park, Ill., were here to attend the funeral.
