Dora Frances Werling was born January 12, 1910 in rural Goldfield, Iowa to John and Caroline Rasmussen Bartzen. Dora attended country schools in rural Goldfield, Iowa and lived with her family until her marriage to Ernest Werling on January 23, 1926 in Renwick, Iowa. Dora and Ernest farmed all their married life in and around the Hardy and Renwick areas.

Dora was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Renwick as well as an honoray member of the Know Your Neighbor Club in Renwick. Dora enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing as well as her famiy. She was a very family-oriented person. Dora entered the Kanawha Care Center on June 10, 1992, and died there on Sunday, June 28, 1992 at the age of 82.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest of Renwick, one daughter, (Mrs. Everett) Lavonne Kraft of Renwick, and one son, Earl Werling of Nevis, Minnesota. Also surviving are two grandsons, two granddaughters, and two great grandsons. Dora was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister and two infant daughters.
