Retired Farmer Dies

Eagle Grove, Ia.—Special: Stenard Anderson, 74, retired farmer, died at his residence Thursday. Funeral services were held at the East Side Lutheran church, Saturday. Rev. T. J. Severtson officiated and burial was made in the cemetery at Holmes. He is survived by the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Carl Buraas [Burras], and one son, Salmer, both of Holmes.

Death Claims Several Well Known Citizens

Stenard Anderson well known resident of North Wright Street, died last week Thursday. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the East Side Lutheran church.

Stenard Anderson was born to the parents Anders and Lisabeth Jobron February 19th, 1863, at Etne, Sndherland, Norway, and died in his home, at 307 N. Washington Ave, Eagle Grove, Iowa, July 22nd, 1937, at the age of 74 years, 5 months and 4 days.

He was united with Christ in Baptism received instruction and confessed his Christian Faith. He came to U. S. A. to Sheldahl, Iowa, April 14th, 1887. And in 1890 he came to Wright county, where he live on his farm home near Holmes.

On November 27th, 1892 he was united in marriage to Miss Martha Helland. On March 1st, 1919 Mr. and Mrs. Anderson retired to Eagle Grove, where they have since lived. He is now survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Berthilda Buraas [Burras], Kanawha, Iowa, and by one son Salmer Anderson, Clarion, Iowa. And by 11 grandchildren, one grandchild has preceeded him in death. He is also survived by one brother, Ole Anderson, Clarion, and by one sister, still in Norway.

Mr. Anderson was a very fine character, thoroughly honest in all his living, industrious and active, a kind father and husband, and a good neighbor. He was a sincere christian, having found the saviour in the middle years of his manhood strength, he lived a consistent christian live. He served as deacon of his church for several years, which office he held at the time of his death. He also served as teacher in the Sunday school. For the last months his health failed, medical aid could not help him. He slept away quietly Thursday evening July 22nd.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 24th, from the home and from the church. Burial was made in the family lot of the Holmes cemetery.
