James E. Darland, 67, of Bullhead City, Arizona, died on Tuesday, April 10, 2006, in Bullhead City, Ariz. A memorial graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday August 22, 2006, at the Rose Hill Cemetary in Eagle Grove. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Darland [nee: Margaret Baker], two sisters Barbara, Mrs. Bud Crose, of Bullhead City and Alice, Mrs. Kent Ekstrom, of Aitkin, Minnesota, and two brothers Allen and Charles in Eagle Grove. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Erwin, and his brother, Gary.

He was a 1958 graduate of Eagle Grove High School. After attending Eagle Grove Junior College, Jim studied drama in New York City. He joined the United States Navy where he specialized in radio communications while serving on the submarine Regulis. Upon leaving the Navy, Jim began a career in hotel service and management. He settled in New York City and lived there for 30 years. Upon retiring in New York he moved to the west coast and lived in Bullhead City, Arizona for the last 10 years.
