October 12, 1879 --- June 15, 1956

CHENOA, ILL. -- John Lester Pearl, 76. died at 10:25 p. m. Friday at his home in Chenoa following an illness of one year. He was taken to the Pils Memorial Home, where visitation will begin at 2 p. m. Sunday. His funeral will be at 2 p. m. Monday with the Rev. Elwin Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Chenoa Cemetery.

He was born in Clarion. Iowa. Oct. 12, 1879, a son of John and Lucinia Miller Pearl. He married Nolia Shoop Nov. 26, 1913, in Pontiac. Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Orville Weber of Pontiac; five sisters, Mrs. Grace Catron, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mrs. Rose Jones, Hurrah, Okla.; Mrs. Jennie Johnson, Tacoma, Wash.; Mrs. Nellie Riker, Cedar Falls, Iowa; and Mrs. Ed Lister, Ava, Mo.; three brothers, Thaddeus and Charles of Oklahoma City and George of Sacramento, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Two daughters, one son, three sisters and three brothers preceded him in death. He was a member of the Methodist Church and of the Modern Woodmen of America.
