Ole Kristian Elai Hansen-Buraas was born November 24, 1876 in Humboldt Co., near Eagle Grove, Iowa to Nels and Bertha Anderson Hansen-Buraas. He was baptized at their farm home in Humboldt Co. on October 31, 1890 by Rev. H. C. Holm. He died at the Rotary Ana Home, Eagle Grove, on December 27, 1967 after reaching the age of 91 years, 1 month and 3 days.

Ole was born and raised on a farm 5 miles west of Eagle Grove and received his education in the country schools near there. He spent his entire life in this vicinity with the exception of the last 4½ years when he retired to the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove.

Those preceding him in death were his parents and 3 brothers: Hans in infancy, Carl in 1938 and Ben in November of this year. Those who mourn his departure include his sister, Hilda of Eagle Grove and a brother, Herman, of Vancouver, British Columbia.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 29 at 2 o'clock at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Rev. H. W. Schiller and Rev. K. R. Torvik in charge. Rev. Torvik is a former pastor of Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church and now lives at Roelyn. Interment was in Norway-Lake Cemetery, Humboldt Co.
