Emma Eittreim was born on April 20, 1882 in Hamilton County, Iowa to Barney and Edverlina Iverson Eittreim. She was baptized into the triune faith shortly after birth. On October 25, 1896 she renewed her baptismal covenant through the rite of confirmation at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pastor Holm officiating. She died on July 7, 1971 at her home in Eagle Grove after reaching the age of 89 years, 2 months, and 17 days.

She received her schooling in the Eagle Grove schools. On October 15, 1902 she was united in marriage to Jens Johnson in Eagle Grove.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jens on August 13, 1951 and three children: Arne, Raymond and Anna.

Those who mourn her departure are: one son, Leonard, Eagle Grove; two daughters: Bertha (Mrs. Charles Johnson) and Agnes McDaniels, Eagle Grove; five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held July 10, 1971 at 10:30 a.m. at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Walter E. Carlson officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
