Former Resident Buried Here Tuesday
Mrs. Martha Simmons, 84, of Friendship Haven, Ft. Dodge, died in the Infirmary there, Saturday, following quite a long illness.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Methodist church in charge of Dr. Clarence Tompkins, of Friendship Haven and Rev. Roy Cox, church pastor. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Simmons is survived by one sister, Mrs. Frank Fulton and one granddaughter Mrs. Robert Giddes of Chicago. Here for the services from out of town were, Mrs. Fulton, Mrs. Giddes and her mother, Mrs. George Snyder all of Chicago.
Mrs. Simmons was a long time resident of Eagle Grove and with her late husband Nate Simmons, resided on North Iowa Ave. for many years. He was a retired conductor for the Chicago and North Western R.R. Mrs. Simmons lived in her home following her husbands death, until 1953, when she moved to Friendship Haven, Ft. Dodge.
