Caroline Jacques was born July 15th, 1831 at Boongrove, Orange Co., N. Y. died at her home in Troy township December 24, 1911 age 80 years. She was married to David Morgan Oct. 20, 1853 in Kirtsvllle, Orange Co., N. Y. They moved to Wright Co. 27 years ago living in Eagle Grove the first winter and have lived in Troy township every since.

She was converted in her girlhood and was a Sunday School teacher for years. She was faithful in her attendance and church work until failing health prevented. Having no children of their own Mr. and Mrs. Morgan shared their home and showered their love upon several homeless children thus showing hearts filled with Love. As the wife of an old soldier she did her part and carried her burdens and aided the cause with her prayers.

Among the friends and relatives from a distance were Mr. Joseph M. Nelson of Greenville, Iowa and Mr. and Mrs. Jas Floyd of S. D.

The family wish to thank the friends and neighbors for the aid given in this their great sorrow and especially the ladles of the G. A. R. for the many beautiful flowers and also the G. A. R. for their kind assistance.
