Walter Delos Maxson, 72, of 5192 Kale Road NE, died Tuesday. Born in Eagle Grove, Iowa, he came to Salem from Califormia in 1973. He was an engineer with Lockheed Aircraft in California. Surviving are his wife, Edna; sons, David, Indianola, Iowa, Donald, Saugus, Calif., and Robert, Bloomington, Calif.; daughters, Nancy Porter, La Habra, Calif., and Marilyn Van Patton, Blockton, Iowa; brothers, Roland, Yosemite Lakes Park, Calif., Virgil, Santa Anna, Calif., and Ernest, Mason City, Iowa; and sisters, Edith Bray, Costa Mesa, Calif., and Hilda, Festus, Mo. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen mortuary. Private crypt entombment will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens mausoleum. Contributions may be made to the Oregon Heart Association.
