Anton Kvale Rites Funeral Saturday
Funeral services for Anton Kvale of Chicago, Ill. were held Saturday afternoon at the Wilson Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Kvale was visiting his sister, Mrs. Signe Satta in Eagle Grove and died early Wednesday evening September 29 in the Clarion Hospital following a car accident south of Clarion. He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Satta, two other sisters, Mrs. Gunhild Johnson of Tulsa,
Okla. and Mrs. Sigrun Hussebo in Norway.OBITUARY
Anton Kvale, son of Bjorn and Berntine Salhus Kvale, was born October 15, 1898 in Haugesund, Norway. He attended schools in Norway and came to the United States as a young man of seventeen and settled in Eagle Grove where he worked as a farm hand on many farms. He later went to Chicago, Illinois to make his home and was an employee of the Mars Candy Factory until his retirement nine years ago. Anton served eight months in the United States Army during WW II. He had made many trips to Eagle Grove through the years to visit his brother and sister and their families and was visiting his sister, Signe Satta, at the time of his death. He died early Wednesday evening, September 29, at the Clarion Community Memorial Hospital, shortly after being admitted as a patient resulting from a car accident. He was 72 years, 11 months and 4 days of age at the time of his passing.He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. He is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Signe Satta of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Gunhild Johnson of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Mrs. Sigrun Hussebo of Norway. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2 at the Wilson Funeral Home, Eagle Grove with Rev. W. E. Carlson officiating. Interment was held on the family lot in Rose Hill Cemetery.
