Katherine Ruby (Clair) Lunda, the daughter of Charles and Hazel (Bernsmeier) Clair, was born on August 30, 1939, in Jewell, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Jewell High School “Class of 1957”. Kathy worked at Woolworth’s in Webster City.
On August 20, 1960, Kathy was united in marriage to Marlin Lunda in Fort Dodge.
As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Kathy enjoyed attending the congregation in Sioux City most of her life. She also liked attending while they wintered in Tucson and currently in Clarion. Kathy and her family enjoyed attending several conventions throughout the United States.
Kathy enjoyed spending time with family and friends – decorating many cakes for their special occasions. She also loved nature, flowers and the Arizona desert.
Kathy lost her battle with Parkinson’s disease on Sunday, April 21, 2019, at the age of 79 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Louis. Kathy is survived by her husband, Marlin Lunda; son Robert Lunda and sister Sherry Banwell (Leigh) all of Eagle Grove.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in Sioux City. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
