November 1, 1926 --- March 20, 1989

BUFFALO, Wyo. -- Marbel [Marvel] Marie Carstens returned to Buffalo in 1970 and worked at the Gatchell Drug Store until ill health forced her to retire in 1983. Mrs. Carstens, 62, died early Monday morning in the Johnson County Memorial Hospital. Born in Galt, Iowa, a daughter of Charlie and Bernie [Vernie] Steenblock, she grew up and graduated from high school in Clarion, Iowa. On Feb. 14, 1946, she married Larry Carstens. They moved to Rock Springs, Wyo. In 1950 they operated a greenhouse and floral business. In 1956 they moved to Dubois, where Mr. Carstens went to work for the Wyoming Game and Fish. They lived in various towns in Wyoming including Buffalo, Green River and Lusk where they were divorced in 1970. Survived by two sons, Wayne of Meridian, Idaho and Stan of Breckenridge, Texas; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
