Deborah Lynette Ford Bodlak of High Springs, Florida passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 27, 2014 in her home. She was born February 2, 1950 in Merrionette Park, Illinois to Jasper and Leona Keppers Ford. Debbie was a quiet, introverted, generous, caring, progressive thinking, and independent person. She gave frequently to charity and was a continued supporter of animal rights and the environment. She loved her son, mother, sisters, and brother.

Debbie was a Case Manager at Shands Hospital / UF Health where she worked for 29 years. She was dedicated to patient care. Debbie loved literature, and was well read. She was at peace in her country home in High Springs where she lived and adored her dogs: Diamond, Max, Lobo and Harvin. She frequented Salon 119 regularly on Saturdays and spent her Sundays attending church and dinner with her son Brandon and his wife, Nicole. Debbie adored her son and was extremely proud of the man he had become. She recently became a proud Grandmother as she welcomed her grandson, Asa Thomas into the world just four months ago. Last, but far from least, Debbie had a beautiful faith in God and believed in heaven above.

Debbie is survived by her mother, Leona Ford of Castle Rock, Colorado; son, Dr. Brandon Karl Bodlak (Nicole); grandson, Asa Thomas Bodlak and siblings, Toni Ford, Cathy Jones (Rick), Jestin Ford, Susan Ikpoh (Manny), Rosemary Baer (Roger) and Jackie Baldyga (John).

A Catholic Mass and reception will be celebrated Monday, May 5, 2014 at 10:00 am at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 10900 SW 24th Ave., Gainesville, FL, with Fr. Kazimierz Ligeza as celebrant. Interment will follow in Forest Meadows Cemetery at 4100 NW 39th Ave, Gainesville FL. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 4, 2014, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street, Jonesville.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to The Friends of the Library: Supporting literacy projects in Alachua County, or The Wagmore Foundation: Supports organizations that are working to eliminate needless euthanasia of pets in Alachua County.
