Mrs. Grigg Thomas Elkin, 83, Eagle Grove, died Saturday morning at Hamilton County Hospital, Webster City, where she had been a patient about two weeks. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Congregational Church, Eagle Grove, with the Rev. Emmett Braselton officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The former Lucy Sparks, Mrs. Elkin was born and raised at Winchester, Ky., and was married in 1901 at Iron, Ky., to Grigg T. Elkin. They moved to Gibson City, Ill., and farmed there and in other Illinois and Iowa communities before retiring and moving to Eagle Grove in 1946.

Mr. Elkin died in 1956. Surviving are 9 children, Mrs. Everett Crystal, Mrs. Harry Wearda, Carl Elkin and Donald Elkin, all of Webster City, Mrs. Richard Fox, Grigg Elkin and Elmer Elkin, all of Eagle Grove, Percy Elkin of Clarion, and Virgil Elkin of Blairsburg; 34 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother and two sisters, Steve Sparks, Mrs. Joe Harris and Mrs. Julia Jordan, all of Winchester, Ky.
