Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas Wood, 70, a former Eagle Grove resident, were held Saturday afternoon in the Evangelical Lutheran Church with the pastor Rev. H. W. Schiller officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Wood died Nov. 25 at her home in Dakota City following an illness of three months.

She is survived by her husband, two daughters: Mrs. Kenneth Strain of Fort Dodge, Mrs. Irven Larson of Dakota City and one son, Alvin, of Dakota City. She is also survived by four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister and four brothers.

Mr. and Mrs. Wood moved from Eagle Grove to Dakota City about two years ago.

OBITUARY

Leatha Wood was born June 22, 1900 in Crystal Lake, Iowa to William and Rosa Reams Crocker. She was baptized in the Methodist Church in Vincent, Iowa. She died November 25, 1970 at her home in Dakota City after reaching the age of 70 years, 5 months and three days. In 1917 Leatha was married to Thomas Wood of Eagle Grove in Fort Dodge by Pastor Danielson. She joined the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church in 1917. Mrs. Wood had resided in Eagle Grove until two years ago when they moved to Dakota City. The last three months she has been in and out of the hospitals.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters: Iva and Florence, and a brother, Ed, and two infant daughters. Those who mourn her departure are her husband; two daughters: Mrs. Kenneth Strain of Fort Dodge and Mrs. Irven Larson of Dakota City; one son, Alvin of Dakota City; four brothers: Ira Crocker of Mason City; Willie Crocker of Madison, Wisc.; Frank Crocker of Charlottesville, Va.; Bert Crocker of Highland, Ind.; one sister, Mrs. Roy Welch of Guttenberg; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held November 28 at 2:00 pm in the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.
