LENOR SPELLMEYER

Lenor Ulstad, daughter of Samuel and Mary (Johnson) Ulstad, was born September 1, 1906 at Holmes, Iowa. She attended rural school near Holmes and also at Thor. On March 26, 1926, she married William Spellmeyer at Eagle Grove. The couple farmed near Eagle Grove, later moving to a farm near Woolstock. In 1952, they moved to Woolstock and owned and operated the Spellmeyer Cafe. Following her husband's death in 1956, she continued to live in Woolstock. She had resided at Southfield Care Center in Webster City for the past nine years.

Lenor Spellmeyer died March 10, 1995 in Webster City at the age of 88 at the Hamilton County Public Hospital.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Mary and Delmer and Minyon, all of Webster City, and Kenneth and Jane, Woolstock; daughter, Marilyn Gatewood, Webster City; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William, son, James, in 1944, her parents, three brothers and five sisters.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 1995 at Woolstock United Methodist Church with the Reverends Marlene Brown and Allen Treibel officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove, Iowa.

Foster Funeral Home of Webster City was in charge of arrangements.
