BELMOND Funeral services for Mrs. Robert (Donna Jean) Slining, 43, rural Goodell, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Congregational Church in Belmond. The Rev. J. Samuel Shelby, former pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Belmond Cemetery with Johnston Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Slining died early Wednesday from injuries received in a fall down the basement steps in her home.
Born in Clarion Sept. 27, 1926, she was the daughter of Lloyd and Bertha Benson. She was graduated from Alexander High School and was married Sept. 30, 1944 to Robert Slining. For the last 15 years they had farmed northwest of Goodell.
Surviving are her husband, four children, Sgt. Lynn Slining, in the Air Force in the Netherlands; Mrs. Paul (Roxanne) Rokke, Belmond; Mrs. Jeff (Kathleen) Modderman, Des Moines; Scott Alan, at home; her mother. Mrs. Lloyd Benson, Belmond; three sisters, Mrs. Michael O'Connor, Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Clement McLaughlin, Belmond; Mrs. Bob Whitaker, Ankeny.
