Steve Trausch dies Sunday
Funeral services for Stephen A. Trausch were held Wednesday morning at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Norman White officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Trausch died Sunday afternoon at the Rotary Ann Home where he was a resident for four years. For many years he farmed East of Eagle Grove. Surviving are sons, Stephen, Tucson, Ariz.; Paul, Jefferson, S.D.; Harold, Des Moines; Duane, Prescott, Ariz.; Kenneth, Eagle Grove; daughters, Mrs. Bill Volkemere, Des Moines; Mrs. Leonard Morphew, Eagle Grove; 32 grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Harry DeMartini, San Francisco, Calif.; and Mrs. Marie Hay, Fort Dodge.

Stephen Anthony Trausch was born January 30, 1891, at Chenoa, Ill., the son of Stephen and Katherine Bauman Trausch. He attended Sacred Heart School, Eagle Grove. He was united in marriage to Anna Thul of Clarion on January 20, 1915 at Clarion. The couple farmed east of Eagle Grove until 1956, when they moved to Eagle Grove. Mrs. Trausch died in 1968. Mr. Trausch had made his home at Rotary Ann since August 1973. He died there on Sunday, Oct. 13, at the age of 83 years, 8 months, and 13 days. He is survived by five sons: Stephen Trausch, Tucson, Ariz; Paul Trausch, Jefferson, S. Dak.; Harold Trausch, Des Moines; Duane Trausch, Prescott, Ariz.; Kenneth Trausch, Eagle Grove; two daughters, (Irene) Mrs. Bill Volkemere, Des Moines; (Mary Anne) Mrs. Leonard Morphew, Eagle Grove; two sisters Mrs. Harry De Martini, San Francisco, Calif.; Mrs. Marie Hay, Ft. Dodge; 32 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister, two brothers and one grandchild.

Mr. Trausch was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Eagle Grove. Rosary services were held Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Kastler - Babcock - DeYoung Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 10:30 Wednesday, Oct. 16, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Norman White officiated, and burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
