Marian McNulty was born Sept. 7, 1906, in Belmond, the daughter of Thomas P. and Julia T. (McLaughlin) McNulty. She graduated from Belmond High School in 1925 and later graduated from Rosary College in Oak Park-River Forest near Chicago in 1929. She later moved to Minnesota where she lived in the Lake Harriet area of Minneapolis. Later following retirement, she made her home in the Inver Grove Heights and Highland Park areas of St. Paul.

Marian was a employee of the Minnesota Department of Labor Rural Credit Division for over 50 years.

Throughout her entire life she was an avid sports fan. She faithfully followed the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. She attended many games with her family and friends. She even enjoyed tailgate gatherings with her family and friends before many events. In later years, as her health and vision declined, she could be found in her favorite team's sports apparel listening to games on the radio.

Marian also enjoyed following the extra-curricular activities that her nieces and nephews participated in. Family was always an important part of her life and she made many trips to visit her parents and other relatives over the years. Marian was very proud of her Irish roots and had been to Ireland twice and various other places during her years.

Her nieces and nephews will remember her bringing them candy and other gifts when she came to visit. Marian was a longtime member of St. Leo's Catholic Church in St. Paul.

Those left to cherish the memory of her life include her brother, Gerald McNulty and his wife, Donna, Belmond; nieces, Shannon McNulty, Santa Fe, N.M., and Julie Castle, Tucson, Ariz.; nephews, Tom McNulty and his wife, Diane, Naples, Fla., Mark McNulty and his wife, Marcia, Clear Lake, Dennis McNulty, Belmond, Cyndy McNulty, Belmond, and Ed McNulty, Minneapolis, Minn., Padraic Rowe and his wife, Barbara, North Oaks, Minn., Rory Rowe and his wife, Carol, St. Paul, Minn., Kelley Rowe and wife, Jean, St. Paul, Minn.; and cousin, Helen McNulty, Minneapolis, Minn.; and many loving great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
