Mina Mary Walton was born on May 17, 1895 in Loogootee, Ind., to Garrison and Alice Crane Walton. She attended school in Loogootee. She married Roy Hotz of Loogootee, Ind. on January 14, 1912, at her home in Loogootee. They made their home there until moving to Eagle Grove, Iowa in 1917. Mina departed this life after a lingering illness at her home on January 27 at the age of 81 years, 8 months, and 10 days. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Roy; two sons: Spencer R. (Dick) Hotz of Reno, Nev.; Robert Hotz of Herscher, HI.; a daughter, Alice (Mrs. Eugene) Wright of Eagle Grove; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters, a son-in-law and a granddaughter, Sue Ellen Hotz.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and a 50 year charter member of the Royal Neighbors of America. Services were held Monday, January 31 at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church. Rev. Donald Glazier officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
