Mrs. George Gross dies at age 92

Mrs. George Gross, 92, died Thursday, Feb. 3 at the Rotary Ann Home Infirmary following a lengthy illness.

Mr. and Mrs. Gross lived at the Rotary Ann Home for many years, and he died in 1975.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Kastler - Babcock - DeYoung Funeral Home in charge of Rev. Donald Glazier. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Gross is survived by one son, Lyle of Eagle Grove; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, also two sisters, Mrs. Edna Warfield, Arthur, Ill., and Mrs. Jennie Born, Cerro Gordo, Ill.

Callie Fern Larrick, the daughter of Isaac and Mary Smith Larrick, was born October 28,1884, at Cerro Gordo, Ill.

She attended school at Cerro Gordo, Ill.

On December 22,1910 she married George H. Gross of Mendota, Ill., at Cerro Gordo, Ill. They moved to Eagle Grove and farmed south of Eagle Grove. George died in 1975. Mrs. Gross had been a resident at the Rotary Ann Home since 1964. Mrs. Gross died at the Rotary Ann Home on Thursday, February 3 at the age of 92 years, 3 months and 5 days.

Survivors include a son, Lyle Gross, Eagle Grove; two sisters: Mrs. Edna Warfield; Arthur, Ill.; and Mrs. Jennie Born, Cerro Gordo, Ill.; one brother, Irwin Larrick of Decatur, Ill.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. at the Kastler - Babcock - DeYoung Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Rev. Donald Glazier of the United Methodist Church officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
