Anna Menke rites pending at Lake

CLEAR LAKE—Anna Menke, 520 S. Filmore, Mason City, died at her home early Saturday. She was the widow of Harm Menke, a farmer in the Clear Lake area, who died in 1949. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Wilcox Funeral Home.

Mrs. Menke for Tuesday

CLEAR LAKE—Funeral services for Mrs. Harm Menke, 82, 520 Fillmore SW, Mason City, will be held Tuesday. A prayer service will be held at 1 p.m. at Wilcox Funeral Home with the Rev. Kurt Marquardt of Grace Baptist Church, Mason City, officiating.

Services will be at 2 p.m. at the Bethany Reformed Church in Belmond with the Rev. Elmer Vander Ploeg officiating. Burial will be in Emmanuel Cemetery at Belmond.

Anna Menke died suddenly Saturday morning at her Mason City home. She was born Sept. 6, 1880, at Fulmosen, Germany, the daughter of George and Tina Junker Groen.

Surviving are six sons, George, Sunnyvale, Calif.; Harm, Rochester, Minn.; Titus, Clear Lake; Albert and Lambert, Mason City, and John, Thornton, and two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Catherine) Winters, Garner, and Anna Mae Mills, Vacatville, Calif.

Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren and two brothers, Chris Groen, Belmond, and Charles Groen, LaMesa, Calif.

Her husband died in 1949 and daughter also preceded her in death.
