Charles "Charlie" Meredith Boyer, 59, of Eagle Grove, died Saturday, July 23, 2005, at his home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2005, from 5-8 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove.

Charles Meredith Boyer was born January 5, 1946, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Frank and Dorothy (Harrison) Boyer. His early education was in the Minburn school system and from the sixth grade on he attended school in Renwick, graduating from Boone Valley High School in 1964. Charles served with the Iowa National Guard. On June 13, 1965, he married Christine Thompson at the Goldfield United Methodist Church. They lived on a farm north of Eagle Grove for one year and then moved to town. He has been involved in the trucking industry his entire life. The last five years he has been driving for First Fleet located in Ames. Charlie enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, visiting with friends, and he loved to feed the birds. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

He is survived by his wife, Chris Boyer, of Eagle Grove; a son, Brian Boyer, of Eagle Grove; a daughter, Jodie Rowedder and her husband, Lonny, of Manning; four grandchildren: Zach and Bailey Boyer of Eagle Grove and Allyson Kocour and Delanie Rowedder of Manning; a sister, Gloria Gilley, and her husband, Clay, of Indiana; two aunts, Fern Harrison of Minbum and Ruth Kirkman, of Perry, and many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Kenny Thompson. The Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
