Funeral services for Miss Jessie Shillington, 902 Neosho St., who died Friday in Newman Memorial County Hospital, will be at 2 p. m. Monday in Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel. They will be conducted by Dr. William A. Hubbard, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

Miss Shillington, a retired teacher, had lived in Kansas for the past 68 years, first in the Council Grove community. She had maintained a residence in Emporia since 1913. The daughter of William J. and Matilda Wagner Shillington, she was born Feb. 24th, 1887, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She was graduated from the College of Emporia in 1915 and received her Master of Science Degree from the University of Kansas. She had taught in rural schools in Morris County and in high schools in Viola, Rose Hill and Clyde and for 26 years before her retirement. In 1951, was a member of the teaching staff of the Fort Scott Junior College. Miss Shillington was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Wesleyan Service Guild and the Adams Circle, Woman's Society of Christian Service, of the church, and she was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma; Chapter CG of the P.E.O. Sisterhood; the Cosmopolitan Club, the American Association of University Women and the Retired Teachers Association.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Edward F. Shillington, who died April 2nd, 1962, and one sister, Mrs. A. E. (Sadie) Buck, who died Nov. 14th, 1959. She is survived by one nephew, Millard P. Buck, Bartlesville, Okla.; two uncles, George and Freeman Wagner, Omaha, Neb.; three great-nephews, James Millard, David Allan and Russell Wayne Buck, Bartlesville, and one great-niece, Carole Jean Buck, Bartlesville.
