Gwendolyn Berrier Thieben
30 August 1920 --- 23 April 1999

Gwendolyn Berrier was born on August 30,1920, to Edward Scott and Mary Dean Berrier at Humboldt, Iowa. She grew up in and attended school at Humboldt. After graduation she worked as a telephone operator in Humboldt before attending nurses training in Sioux City, Iowa, then in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Following graduation from nurses training, she worked for Dr. Bruce in Fort Dodge, and Dr. Schafferle in Eagle Grove, Iowa. On November 2,1949, she was united in marriage to Klaus Thieben. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority of Eagle Grove, United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove, and was active in the Church Circle.

Gwendolyn Thieben died Friday, April 23, 1999, at the Stratford Care Center in Stratford, Iowa. Survivors include two sons, Dirk Thieben, and wife, Lynne, West Des Moines, Iowa, and Scott Thieben, and wife, Pat, Boone, Iowa; four grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Hendricks, Tucson, Ariz., and Vera McKittrick, Ankeny, Iowa, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Klaus; two sisters, Irene and Lucille; and five brothers, Victor, Faye, Don, Glen, and Paul.

Memorial services were held Monday, April 26,1999, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove with the Reverend William Ballard officiating. Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
