February 18, 1904 ---- April 7, 1999

Suzanne L. Ermels, 95, Webster City, died Wednesday, April 7, 1999 at Crestview Manor Care Center. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Rev. John J. Walsh, Celebrant. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 6:45 p.m. and a scripture service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral home. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m.

Suzanne Loretta Mariga, daughter of John and Anna Van Landschoot Mariga, was born Feb. 18, 1904 at Clarion. She received her education at Clarion and attended Tobin Business College in Fort Dodge. On May 14, 1924 she married Carl Ermels at Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City. She was employed as a cook in Washington Central School for more than 20 years. They retired to Costa Mesa, CA. in 1966. Mr. Ermels died on Feb. 5, 1976. She moved to Yuma, AZ in 1996 and to Webster City in February of this year.

Survivors are daughters and son-in-law, Betty Patterson and Martha Hill, both of Stanhope, Helen and Robert Lee of Yuma, AZ., a son and daughter-in-law, Bernard and Marian Ermels of Webster City, 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren, brother Jim Mariga of Belmond, nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Mariga, sisters, Lucy Nilles, Helen Horrigan and Catherine Miller.

She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Ermels to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
