27 February 1876 ---- 12 February 1943

Bertha Bram Baumgartner, second oldest daughter of Jacob and Fannie Bram, was born in Lynxville, Crawford County, Wisconsin, on February 27, 1876. When she was six years of age the family moved to Renwick, Iowa, where she grew to young womanhood. She was baptized in infancy and in early youth united with the Evangelical Church of Renwick and later transferred her membership to the Reformed Church.

On February 6, 1901, she was united in marriage to Matt Baumgartner of Lu Verne, Iowa. The young couple made their home near Lu Verne for six years and later moved to Humbird, Wisconsin, where they resided for 36 years. To this union six children were born John, Marie, Emma, Lena, Bertha and Anna. Two years ago, she and her husband moved to Greenwood. During recent years she has been in failing health and after a brief, serious illness she departed this life on February 12, 1943, at the age of 66 years, 11 months, and 16 days.

All her life she was a faithful member of the Church, teaching in the Sunday school and willingly serving the Master. She was a faithful wife and a loving, devoted mother and her Home going will be keenly felt by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, one son John of Fall Creek, Wis.; five daughters, Mrs. John Michaels, Clay City, Ind.; Mrs. Victor Weidler, Ridgeway, Pa.; Mrs. Adolph Weidler, Decatur, Ill.; Mrs. Dan Sherman, Sturgeon Bay, Wis.; Mrs. Robert Heiple, Green Bay, Wis. Three brothers Henry Bram, Renwick, Iowa; Jacob Bram, Minneapolis, Minn. and Peter Bram, Storm Lake, Iowa; two sisters, Emma Brown, Cherokee, Iowa, and Mrs. George Jutte, Webster City, Iowa and 8 grandchildren besides other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. from the Zion Reformed Church and at 2 o’clock from the Reformed Church at Humbird, Rev. B.M. Fresenborg, officiated. She was laid to rest in the Mentor Cemetery.

Mrs. Henry Keiner, Miss Louise Keiner and Miss Martha Horn sang “Rock Of Age,” “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Nearer My God To Thee” accompanied by Mrs. Adolph Meyer. The pallbearers were George Braun, John Wuethrich, Adolph Schwarze, C.C. Hoehne, Adolph Meyer and Carl Grube. Those who had charge of the flowers were Mrs. Caroline Horn, Mrs. Carl Grube and Mrs. Geo Braun.
