May Angeline Crosier Stice

The Manchester friends of her family will regret to learn of the death of May Crosier Stice, which occurred at Eagle Grove, Iowa, Saturday afternoon, December 2, after a brief illness. Before her marriage Mrs. Stice lived here with her mother, Mrs. Fannie E. Crosier.

May A. Crosier was born in Milo township, near Manchester, Iowa, April 9, 1885. In the spring of 1893, she moved with her parents to Manchester, where she grew to womanhood, and where on September 29th, 1905, she was united in marriage to Fred W. Stice. To this union were born three children, Mildred, aged 11, Wanda, aged 10, and Arthur aged 9, who, with the husband, are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving wife and mother. Mrs. Stice is also survived by her mother, Mrs. F. E. Crosier of Manchester. two brothers, W. M. Crosier of Coggon, and Frank T. Crosier of Astoria, Oregon; one sister, Gladys Crosier, of Eagle Grove. One sister, Lucy E., preceded her in death, December 21, 1904, and her father died at Manchester December 31, 1897. Since their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Stice have resided at Gladbrook, Cedar Rapids, Tama and about a year ago they moved to Eagle Grove.

Mrs. Stice was taken ill on Sunday, November 26th, but her condition was not considered serious, and on Tuesday following peritonitis developed and she was taken to the hospital. On Thanksgiving day she underwent an operation, from which she rallied nicely and following which she seemed much improved until the day before her death. A short service was held at the late residence at Eagle Grove, Monday afternoon, after which the remains were taken to Tama, where the funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, at the. M. E. church. Burial was made in the Tama cemetery.
