December 30, 1894 --- February 9, 1981

Funeral Services for Mrs. Laura O. Nelson were held from the Chapel of the Eyler-Willim Funeral Homes on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Rev. William Granger of First Lutheran Church officiated and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at Clarion. Mrs. Nelson died at the Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion on February 9, 1981 at the age of 86.

Mrs. Paul Loomis was the organist and Granville Shivvers was the vocalist. Bearers were; A.M. Andrews, Merle Paulson, James H. Howieson, Alvin Kluss, Randall Nelson, and Marvin McAllister

Laura was born at Barnsville, Ohio on December 30, 1894 and was the daughter of Etna and Ella Poulson Perkins. She was raised in Ohio and came to Iowa in 1916. On December 18, 1918 she was married to Clifford A. Nelson at Clarion. They farmed in Lincoln Township until moving to Clarion in 1944. Mr. Nelson died in 1971. Since November she has made her home at the Care Center in Clarion.

She is survived by two daughters; Mrs. Olaf (Alice) Moss of Clarion and Mrs. Anna Belle Smith of Clive. There are 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, a brother, Edward Perkins of Barnsville, Ohio and a sister Mrs. Ella McEndree of Akron, Ohio. Her parents, 1 brother, 3 sisters, one son and a grandson preceded her in death.

Mrs. Nelson was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational.
