Paul Kalkwarf, 78, Golden, Colorado, died Nov. 19, 2018. A celebration of life was held Dec. 2. Paul was born June 24, 1940, the oldest son of Ernest and Florence Kalkwarf of Belmond. He graduated from Belmond High School in 1958 and then attended Wartburg College and Iowa State University, earning a degree in landscape architecture. He worked for the National Park Service for 29 years. He spent five years working on Asir National Park in Saudi Arabia. He was preceded in death by his younger brothers Merrill and Neil. He is survived by his wife Bonnie; daughter Dthia of Denver, CO; and sisters Janis Hase of Arvada, CO, Miriam Kalkwarf of Larkspur, CO, and Adrienne Pasquariello of Belmond.
